FISHER MT-Z1 (1989)

FISHER MT-Z1 (1989)

The Fisher MT-Z1 is a high-end turntable with belt drive and separate control unit. It has a subchassis made of cast stone, which rests on four springs on a wooden frame. The drive motor uses a newly developed three-phase brushless FG servo motor. The power supply control section, which is responsible for the rectification and operation of the AC power supply, is designed to be separated from the main body. This suppresses interfering vibrations in the rotation system and the adverse effects of the power supply section on the drive mechanism. The tone arm uses a high-precision gimbal support tone arm. While the MT-Z1 was introduced in 1989 under Sanyo ownership it is actually based on the C.E.C. ST-930 from 1989. Made in Japan of course.
