DIATONE 1946-2016

DIATONE was a Japanese electronics manufacturer which specialized in loudspeaker driver manufacture and home and studio loudspeaker system. The brand name DIATONE was registered in september 1946 as a division of MITSUBISHI. They began manufacturing monitor speakers for NHK (Japan Broadcast Corporation) and was closed down in 1999. DIATONE was mainly sold in Japan and it was considered a loudspeaker specialist however several MITSUBISHI audio components were sold in Japan under the DIATONE brand name. In the last few years the DIATONE brand name was revived to manufacture Digital Car Audio systems exclusively for Japan.

This is where The Stereo Museum lives. The 1001 Hi Fi  is a fabulous privately owned collection of over 500 Hi Fi units, consisting of CD players, cassette tape recorders, reel to reel recorders, tuners, turntables, amplifiers, systems etc. In 2012 the museum interior was updated.
