The RX-70 Stereo Casseiver was introduced by Pioneer in 1981. The same year it became the recipient of a Good Design Award in Japan. The RX-70 is a combination of a 2x28W stereo amplifier, logic controlled cassette deck using the latest electronic technology and a quartz PLL digital synthesizer tuner with 5 FM/AM preset stations. The matching loudspeaker system was the S-X4 compact 2-way speaker system featuring a 18cm bass unit.
