AKAI GX-F80 cassette deck

Brand: AKAI
Model: GX-F80
Year: 1979

The GX-F80 from Akai was introduced in 1979, with the list price of $ 550. In addition to improving the reproduction quality of whatever tape you use (New Metal tapes included), the new Super GX head presents a great many advantages. Superior low noise sound, a dust resistant characteristic for precise head-to-tape contact, and an extremely hard surface that ensures an unusually long life span equivalent to 17 years of non-stop play. The GX-F80 is a basic but robust 3-head cassette recorder featuring a 2-motor belt-drive transport system with one capstan in a illuminated feather touch full logic solenoid operated mechanism. The Feather-touch, sensor-light controls are a unique feature that was only used on the GX-620/625 reel-to-reel tape recorders and the GX-715II model. A two-tone fluorescent VU meter with Peak +3 and +8 dB reading together with the A.D.R.System (Automatic Distortion Reduction System) contributes to best possible recordings from any source. The GX-F80 can also be remote controlled with the optional RC-18, RC-17 or RC-70 remote controllers.
