Introducing the personal component system of the future (...as seen in 1989). With a width of only 225 mm, this high performance digital sound system fits anywhere. From the sparsest of flats to the richest of lofts, the chic-shaped separable component structure promises to match even the most sophisticated of urban lifestyles. Marketed as "pixy - personal component" the MHC-P77 is the first model of this enduring system concept from Sony. The CD player is equipped with a dual D/A converter system with 4 times oversampling and features the usual programming and cd-to-tape editing functions. The cassette recorder has auto-reverse mechanism for both cassettes and tape B is the recorder unit. The tuner features 30 station random preset for your favorite radio programs but it also features an incorporated timer. The power rating of the amplifier is 35W+35W (6ohm, EIAJ) and it also features a 5-band equalizer with spectrum analyzer. The loudspeaker is a two-way model with 13cm bass-mid and 5cm tweeter and the whole system can be remote controlled with a large multifunction hand-held unit. While each unit is an individual box they use proprietary ribbon cable to connect the components. Individual components can not be used on their own, only in this system.
