In 1979 a new model has been added to the Onkyo Integra series of integrated amplifiers. The A-810 was the top-of-the-line model. Of course, it features the Super Servo system, but this one has been further developed. This is the W Super Servo system. This is a kind of sound quality purification filter that cuts out harmful components in the ultra-low range. The sense of presence and atmosphere that had previously been masked by unnecessary signals now comes back to life right before your eyes. This unit uses a dual amplifier configuration (Dual Direct Amp) to maximize the effect of the W Super Servo system. This is a simple configuration that combines a variable gain equalizer for both MC and MM with a high-gain power amplifier, with a direct tone control consisting of only passive elements inserted between them. In other words, all factors that cause deterioration in sound quality are eliminated. In addition, Onkyo's unique method has been used to deal with switching distortion and crossover distortion. A linear switching method is adopted in the output stage of the power amplifier to measure the low-frequency crossover distortion, and high fT transistors have been used to effectively deal with switching distortion, almost completely eliminating this harmful effect.
