Top-class performance with 2 x 110 W continuous sine wave output. A deluxe receiver in every respect, the SA-7100 is a quality product with high output power and unusual technology. The SA-7100 delivers an output power of 100 watts sine min. per channel into 8 ohms, both channels driven, with a total harmonic distortion of only 0.08% at 1 kHz. This is achieved through modern solid-state circuits with sophisticated field-effect transistors and a flat group delay. This is achieved by a linearly amplifying IF IC with two matched ceramic filters, followed by a low-distortion PLL stereo decoder IC. The FM tuner section has an excellent sensitivity of 1.7 µV, while the power amplifier features an extra-large mains transformer, including oversized 6,800 µF filter capacitors in each of the two power supplies. The power stage uses OCL (output capacitorless) technology. Prevents distortion and frequency response losses caused by transformers and output capacitors. This oversize creates an energy reserve for powerful, long-wavelength waves typical of drums and bass. Record fidelity is excellent, due to a phono signal-to-noise ratio of 80 dB or better and a high phono clipping tolerance of 300 mV sine at 1 kHz. Other important features include tone controls with two selectable turnover frequencies, comprehensive/tape dubbing facilities, two-stage audio muting (-10 dB and -20 dB), noise/rumble/stereo filter, field strength and ratio center meters, and level meters for the right and left channels. The SA-7100 is a quality receiver of rare performance.
