The mechanism must also be able to fully respond to that. The TD-550 model released in 1972 is a three-motor auto-reverse tape deck for advanced tape enthusiasts. The 3 motors include an optimal 6-pole eddy current motor for winding, and a 4-8-pole hysteresis synchronous motor for the capstan, ensuring accurate and stable rotation. Operation is via full-scale all-electronic piano push buttons, and all operations can be performed with the lightest touch of your fingertips, giving the feeling of a professional machine. The drive system is center capstan type. The four heads are arranged symmetrically on the left and right, so the auto reverse function ensures that recording and playback are performed under the same conditions both ways.
