The A&D GX-Z7100LTD is a Limited Edition of 2000 (Japanese market only components) to commemorate the achievement of 6 million cassette decks produced until 1989. This is a story that started in 1970 with the introduction of the First AKAI Cassette Recorder, the CS-50. The A&D (Akai & Diatone/Mitsubishi brand name) GX-Z7100LTD is based on the GX-Z7100 which in turn is the base for the better known international market models AKAI GX-95/75 from 1987. Minor schematic changes were made to the GX-Z7100LTD such as higher purity conductors, extra shielding of the supply transformer, copper plated bottom chassis and ceramic insulators.
