The X3 has already earned widespread praise as a video recorder capable of producing image quality beyond its class, and the X3 Spirit advances this performance further by incorporating W-VHS high-definition imaging technology. At its core is a dedicated 19-micron Sendust HD Pro head, designed specifically for 3x mode and derived from the head used in the world’s first high-definition home video system, ensuring excellent high-frequency characteristics through its laminated Sendust structure and delivering richer, more powerful color reproduction even during long-duration recordings such as BS broadcasts. Complementing this is the Clear Wide Reception System, featuring a Crisp Wide Tuner that enhances high-frequency detail and improves horizontal resolution by 5 dB over the HR-X3, along with an upgraded Crisp Wide BS tuner that reduces low-frequency noise by approximately 2 dB for cleaner satellite images, and a built-in booster BS antenna splitter that minimizes signal loss. Image processing is further refined by a motion-adaptive 3D digital Y/C separation circuit with 4 Mbit memory, reducing dot interference and cross-color while working alongside 3D digital noise reduction to preserve detail and produce sharp, dimensional images suitable for widescreen viewing. Color performance is enhanced by the Super Real Color Circuit, derived from the flagship HR-20000, which improves the signal-to-noise ratio through reduced distortion and noise, resulting in brighter, more natural colors. An auto-calibration system automatically optimizes recording levels to match the tape in use, maximizing both video and audio quality across six preset modes for S-VHS and VHS recording, while gold-plated rear terminals minimize transmission loss and ensure the X3 Spirit delivers its full performance potential.
