SONY TC-PB5 (1981) | Half Deck

 

The TC-PB5 is a half-size cassette deck specialized for music playback. The additional RM-65 remote control allows synchronized play with other compatible recorders. With the RMS (random memory music sensor) you can program up to 15 songs randomly in the desired order. You can start and play one after another according to the order of stored songs. You can also play the same song repeatedly. The TC-PB5 is equipped with a S & F (Sendust & Ferrite) head. This head combines the maximum magnetic flux density of Sendust alloy and the high frequency characteristics of ferrite. The deck features a 2-motor type mechanism with feather touch logic control, auto tape selector and Dolby B noise reduction. The TC-PB5 can be used in a conventional stereo hi-fi system or with SA-55 active speakers as a compact playback solution.
