DENON DP-S1 (1993) | The Reference Component

Brand: DENON
Model: DP-S1
Year: 1993

The DP-S1 from Denon is State--of-the-Art-CD Transport. Just like a Swiss watch it is featuring ruby bearings that guarantee precise and trouble-free operation. The chassis is made of a non-magnetic sand-cast alloy while the disc stabilizer is turned from a solid slab of alloy. The CD mechanism with it's 6mm spindle shaft resting on a ruby bearing was actually built by Victor (JVC) and it can also be found in the Yamaha GT-CD1 and GT-CD2. The laser unit is mounted in a air-tight and light-isolated chamber. All this is secured by a triple floating suspension mounted on a solid slab base. The top cover is motorized and can be remote controlled with a hand-held unit delivered in its own box. The DP-S1 features five digital outputs (coaxial, TOS, AES/EBU, BNC and optical ST) and it was designed to be used in conjunction with the DA-S1 Alpha Processing D/A converter unit. Size of the unit: 434x143x400mm | Weight: 16,7kg.
