Relax and enjoy music. This is what the Sound Core Hi-Fi system is all about. Introduced by TEAC in 1989 the Sound Core system comprised three models the a-1, a-2 and a-3. The SOUND CORE series is a new form of audio system that was recommended to "modern people who are interested in both quality and design". The original promotional brochure also said that this is a: "Stylish European design that blends elegantly into your interior". The amplifier section of the a-1 model was 50W/ch, the a-2 was 30W/ch while the a-1 was 20W/ch. Only the a-1 and a-2 models featured auto-reverse cassette recorders but all models featured a CD player. The TZ-1 "AV furniture" was available separately, while the system had a wide range of loudspeakers available. First there was the TEAC Sound Core S-5 "designer model" and the S-100 but there was also a Tannoy Eclipse and a Mordaunt Short MS-35G available as additional units. The Sound Core systems had their dedicated remote controllers too, the RC-11 for the a-1 and a-2 models and the RC-33 for the a-3 model.
