JVC R-5000 (1980) - Personal Hi-Fi System

Personal Hi-Fi System

The R-5000 is great to listen to, look at and, thanks to touch-responsive controls, is a cinch to operate. Naturally, it has the sort of features you've come to expect from JVC: a tape deck with metal-capable SA (Sen-Alloy) heads and full logic control; a digital FM/AM tuner that lets you preset up to 14 stations; and an amplifier capable of delivering comfortable power to each channel. Power rating is 30 watts per channel, min. RMS, both channels driven into 8 ohms from 40 to 20,000Hz.

DENON POA-1500 | PRA-1000 (1983) - Real-Time Audio Technology

Real-Time Audio Technology

Brand: DENON
Model: POA-1500 | PRA-1000
Year: 1983

The POA-1500's non-feedback circuit detects only the distortion in the output stage and performs "direct distortion servo" (distortion canceling circuit), theoretically reducing distortion to the zero region. In this method, the music signal is transmitted only in a fixed direction and does not have input feedback, thereby improving dynamic characteristics. A DC amplifier configuration is adopted, and all signal paths are completely capacitorless. By adopting a direct DC servo circuit, coupling capacitors related to coloration of the sound are eliminated from input to output. A large-sized toroidal transformer and a large-capacity block capacitor are adopted as a power supply part. In the PRA-1000 a non-feedback buffer amplifier is used on the output side, and the signal is sent to the power amplifier that serves as the load in an optimal state. This circuit has a completely symmetrical cascade bootstrapped complementary FET input non-feedback configuration. In addition, a newly developed DC servo circuit is adopted to stabilize the DC offset, and by blocking drift at high speed, the influence of DC deviation on the power amplifier is prevented. The flat amplifier consists of a high-speed OP amplifier and an ultra-low noise FET differential amplifier. By adding a cascade bootstrap circuit to the first stage, distortion increase due to the influence of the first stage volume is prevented, and low distortion characteristics are obtained. Moreover, by incorporating a tone control element into the feedback circuit, a tone control circuit with a simple an configuration is formed. Available in black and silver with wood side panels.

Sansui XR-Q7 (1980) - Silent Synchrotor System

Silent Synchrotor System

Brand: Sansui
Model: XR-Q7
Year: 1980

The XR-Q7 from Sansui is a full auto direct-drive turntable with exclusive silent synchrotor system. The Silent Synchrotor System utilize a second rotor, essentially the same design as the drive motor, located directly underneath the drive motor. This second rotor is synchronized with the main drive motor, but rotates back and forth in either direction in response to speed change commands sent by the servo to the drive motor, thereby cancelling any vibration that the torque variations may cause before they can affect the cabinet. The coreless linear-drive motor utilized by Sansui achieve an amazing wow/flutter of 0.009% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 80dB (DIN B). The Quartz-Servo system maintains perfect speeds by controlling the direct drive motor. The XR-Q7 is equipped with Dynaoptimum Balanced Tonearm of a straight design, with an integral headshell fixed to the tonearm tube to minimize mass and improve trackability. All automatic operations of the tonearm are controlled by a completely separate motor and the built-in microcomputer supervises all motor functions.
